Dairy-Free Chocolate 'Milkshake'
Who would have thought it possible to make a deliciously creamy chocolate milkshake that actually nourishes your body? With almonds, bananas, coconut milk, cacao powder, honey and coconut oil, this dairy free ‘milkshake’ really is a nutritional powerhouse. High in fibre, magnesium, iron, zinc, antioxidants, B Vitamins, potassium, healthy fats… the list goes on. Best of all, it really tastes heavenly! For anyone looking for a chocolate hit, a nutritional after-school snack for children or a filling breakfast on the go, I recommend this dairy and gluten free meal in a glass.
I love the beautiful flavours of the Loving Earth cacao powder and coconut oil. These products are available from The TM Shop, although any brand can be used. I must stress the importance of using raw and organic cacao powder and unrefined virgin coconut oil for maximum health benefits and flavour.
GLUTEN FREE, VEGETARIAN, DAIRY FREE
2 ripe bananas, frozen
400g coconut milk
2 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tbsp raw honey (or to taste)
1 tbsp coconut oil
- Place almonds in TM bowl, mill for 20 seconds, speed 9.
- Add bananas, coconut milk, cacao powder, honey, coconut oil and ice. Blend for 1 minute 30 seconds, speed 9.
